Equegym's patented 'Orbital Drive' system provides a quiet and trouble free drive system for our range of horse walkers.

The principal operational methodology of our 'Orbital Drive' system is common to the entire range of Equegym horse walkers. Steel framed gates are suspended from a high tensile tubular ring that rotates above the horse walkway; horses are therefore encouraged to walk at a pre-selected speed in the direction of the ring rotation.

The high tensile tubular steel ring is supported by galvanised steel fittings and composite rubber support wheels. The ring is driven through the supporting wheels by a variable speed bi-directional electric motor.

The drive system is controlled by a programmable control box mounted next to the outer entry gates and automatically runs the exercise routine selected. For example: slow start up - 8 minutes clockwise - slow to stop - slow start up for 8 minutes counter-clockwise - slow to stop. The speed is governed by a variable speed selector.

Equegym's patented 'Orbital Drive' horse walker design represents the latest generation in equestrian exercising systems and are based on up-to-date design principals, manufacturing methodologies and materials technology.

The 'Orbital Drive' system is made from lightweight but strong and durable components that completely free up the central arena area for lunging, storage and other purposes. The space consuming and noisy 'Spider' or 'Star' horse walker machines that you may have come across in the past are now therefore a thing of the past.

Our design is also notable for it's 'Ground Anchor' technology which may alleviate the need to prepare a concrete foundation.

A VERSITILE HORSE WALKER DESIGN

Equegym provide complete walker systems that are available in a range of standard sizes and custom built options. Standard circular walkers range from 13 to 25 meters in diameter, however, larger diameter exercisers can be supplied to order which comfortably and safely exercise up to 15 horses.

The horse pusher gates are easily raised clear of the ground by handlers to allow unimpaired access to the walkway whilst carrying out ground maintenance and can be electrified if necessary.

The 'Orbital Drive' horse exerciser is available in open, oval, and full or half roof covered configurations. In addition our horse walkers can be easily installed in our client's existing buildings.

A SAFE HORSE WALKER DESIGN

The health, care and safety of both horse and handler were considered paramount during the design phase of Equegym's walkers and this consideration is strictly adhered to during the manufacturing processes.

All of the surfaces that could be potentially hazardous are machined with rounded corners, fixings are countersunk (example right) and all electrical components are of a standard that provide a safe working environment for operators and horses.

ADVANTAGES OF EQUEGYM'S ORBITAL DRIVE DESIGN

Space saving: In contrast to conventional Spider walkers the inner area of an Orbital Drive horse walker remains completely free so this space is not lost but can still be used for other purposes. It is fully accessible and can easily double-up as lunge pen . Lunging is of course possible while the horse walker itself is running. This maximises the utilisation of your property space.

Low rotating mass: The only moving part is the light-weight Orbital Ring with its pusher gates. There aren't any heavy arms protruding from the centre.

Energy efficient: The low mass of the rotating ring minimises power consumption - the power required to drive the walker costs as much as running a hair dryer!

Cost efficient: The construction of larger horse walkers is straightforward and will not increase costs out of proportion. Walkers with large and very large diameters are possible, this does not cause additional design problems and they can be built without extra costs. Therefore larger Orbital Drive horse walker system is usually less costly than equivalent Spider walkers from other suppliers.

Even weight distribution: The weight is evenly distributed along the exerciser walkway, rather than being concentrated in the centre. So, a concrete foundation is usually not necessary.

Safe: Design and construction are inherently safe as the rotating ring is high above the walkway. There aren't any rotating arms. The low rotating mass of the Orbital Ring enables a very fast emergency stop performance.

Versatile: The Orbital Drive horse walker system can be fitted around existing lunge pens, incorporated into lunge halls and tailored to fit into other building structures. The Orbital Ring can fit around existing roof support posts and similar structures, which makes the installation into existing buildings possible without prohibitive extra costs. Also, otherwise unusable space can be utilised, for example we could build you an Orbital Drive horse walker around a tree!

Durable and Low Maintenance: All steel parts are hot-dipped galvanized, which makes them durable over many years. The light-weight design of all rotating parts together with specifically designed hard-wearing components keeps the system virtually maintenance free.

High Resale Value: Our Orbital Drive horse exercisers maintain their value well, they are durable and their modular design means that they can be taken apart, moved and reassembled elsewhere without problems.

Planning permission friendly: A planning permit is usually not required.
